The Horse Sense Blog compares the nonsense in today's news with good ol' fashioned horse sense

“…I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve.… It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings.” - Patrick Henry, March 23, 1775

"The further a society drifts from truth the more it will hate those who speak it." - George Orwell

Dumb & Dumber: The USA vs. France

Here’s the Nonsense:  France’s new president is taking aggressive steps that will move that country forward, just as President Obama is trying to do in the U. S.

Here’s the Horse Sense:  Even though it’s been proven here and abroad that you can’t succeed if you spend more money than you have, France’s new president is much like President Obama in his commitment to ideology over solutions.
France’s new president, Francois Hollande, has put ideology over solutions and reduced the retirement age from 62 to 60.  It’ll be paid for with higher taxes.  Sounds a lot like the kind of things that President Obama has tried and continues to suggest to help America get back on track.  If I didn’t know better I’d think  these two presidents were auditioning for a new movie called “Dumb & Dumber:  The USA vs. France.”

Most countries in the world are facing huge financial problems and are severely in debt.  For some reason many leaders think that you can get out of debt by going further into debt.  That only makes sense in fairy tales and dreams.  In my new book, No Tomorrows:  How to Halt America’s Imminent Collapse and Return to the American Dream – And Why It Must Start With The 2012 Elections, I address these kinds of issues and give real solutions to the problems America faces.

In real life those dreams and fairy tales that so many foolish people in leadership think will work turn out to be nightmares and horror stories.  Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows you can’t get out of debt by going further into debt.  You can’t build a future by continuing to spend beyond your means.  Yet many Democrats and  establishment Republicans continue to think this kind of nonsense works.
I’ve spent over 37 years in business and the one thing I learned is that businesses that are successful are ones that bring in more money than they spend.  Sounds simple, doesn’t it?  It’s a simple concept but it’s hard work to make it happen.  It’s really no different than in our personal lives.  You can’t spend your way to prosperity.  But we have progressives in power that don’t care.  They are so intent on foisting their plans on our country that they don’t care if they destroy the nation’s economy in the process.  Either they realize this and want it to happen for some plan they have to fundamentally change America or they are not smart enough to realize what they are doing.

Regardless, what’s really stupid is that any American would fall for it.  This is simple economics.  The simplest thing to understand about handling money is to know that you can’t spend more than you have and get ahead.

America is at a crossroads and must make some critical decisions.  We face a long, hard road to turn this country around and repair the damage that Democrats and establishment Republicans have done to this country.  The good news is that there are solutions if we act immediately.  Waiting or delaying will not only compound our problems, they will assure our destruction.  That delay will cause not only us, but our children and grandchildren to face a standard of living more like 19th century America than the prosperity we have enjoyed in our lifetimes.
