The Horse Sense Blog compares the nonsense in today's news with good ol' fashioned horse sense

“…I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve.… It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings.” - Patrick Henry, March 23, 1775

"The further a society drifts from truth the more it will hate those who speak it." - George Orwell

It's The Ideology, Stupid!

Here's the Nonsense:  We're dealing with a president and an administration that is in over their heads.  They are simply incompetent and if we can just weather the storm until they're out of office everything will be okay.

Here's the Horse Sense:  This has nothing to do with incompetence and everything to do with ideology.  Americans have missed that point and now we face the complete loss of the America we have known.

This topic is one that makes me feel like I should quit writing about politics and current events.  After all these years of the progressives controlling our government it is amazing to me that anyone could still think that this administration is incompetent.  That belief is the reason the progressives have won and continue to have a stranglehold on this country.  You might as well be an ostrich with your head in the sand if you believe that this president or his administration are incompetent.  This isn't about incompetence, it's about their ideology. And if people can't see that by now it says a lot of bad things about the future of America.

Americans are foolish to continue to believe that this president, this administration, is simply in over their heads. Even if we assume that these people were ignorant when they started in office, no one with half a brain could be in their 6th year of watching the continued failure of every policy they have implemented and not think about the need to find a solution to America's problems that works.  But to them this isn't failure, it's success because they are succeeding at implementing their policies to change America.  And their policies aren't about creating jobs, a good economy, a good image for America in the world, a strong defense for our nation, or anything else that traditionally was seen by both political parties as good for our nation.  Their plan is to change America from the inside out by changing who we are as a nation.  They don't believe in America's greatness or that America has been a good nation.  They believe that America is the source of much, if not most evil in the world and that our country must be punished for our past and changed to be what they view as better in the future.

This administration is full of more academics than probably any administration in history.  And while academics often don't have much common sense, there is no doubt that most in academia have average or above average IQs (I'll take someone with common sense over someone with a high IQ any day of the week).  So, even if someone is incompetent, if they have the brains of most in academia it would only be natural for them, after 5 years of complete failure, to start to look for other solutions.  This administration does not do that.  This administration continues down the same path proclaiming the same mantra they always have.  It isn't failure if it's accomplishing what they have set out to do.  That is the mark of ideologues, not incompetents.

It's time for Americans to wake up.  Bill Clinton, during his 1992 campaign for the White House, is known for pointing out that George H. W. Bush was missing the most important issue in the campaign, which was the economy.  That's where the phrase "It's the economy, stupid." was coined.  It was obvious to anyone paying attention that that was what was on the minds of Americans.

In the same vein, anyone paying attention to this government should recognize that what we are seeing is a bunch of ideologues in control of our nation.  It's not about incompetence, it's about their ideology.  Considering that, I have to say, "It's the ideology, stupid!"

Unless and until we wake up to that fact and deal with our problems based on ideology, there is no hope for America.  An ideological fight is not the same as dealing with incompetence or any other type of difference of opinion.  Ideology closes a person off to other ideas.  They do not see us as just having a difference of opinion.  They see us as the enemy.  That's why President Obama made it clear when he was first elected that those who didn't agree with him would be punished.  That's why he referred to those who didn't agree with him as needing to sit in the back of the bus.  That's why he has never, NEVER, been willing to negotiate with Republicans.  To him a negotiation, or compromise, means that the other side must give up and agree with him without him giving an inch.  That is an ideologue.

And it's not just this president.  If Hillary Clinton or any other Democrat or establishment Republican were in the presidency we would face the same thing.  This is a fight against an ideology that has taken over both the Democrat Party and the establishment wing of the Republican Party.  Both are on the same path to the same destination.  Sure, the Republican establishment is heading there at a slower pace (they are on a train while the Democrats are on a jet), but they are still headed there.  Yet Americans are thinking it's all about the incompetence of one man, this president.

We have Americans thinking that this president is just in over his head.  Mitt Romney, sad excuse for a candidate that he was, even expressed that opinion.  That is naivete on steroids!  This president and his progressive friends intentionally make the decisions that they do.  They are not worried about being stopped because the American people don't realize just how deep this ideological commitment really is.  But the left isn't worried because no one holds them accountable.  Americans are in too much denial that this could really be happening in our country.  And the people we've elected to Congress won't stand up because they are in too much fear of making waves or being called racist.

Afraid of being called racist?  Are they kidding?  I've got news for them.  They're going to be called racist anyway so they might as well not worry about it and start standing up for the Constitution.  Unless Americans get past this idea that we just have to get past this presidency and then we'll be okay, there is no hope to stop the fall of our country.  We are well on the way to total destruction.  No one is stopping them.  Congress is not holding them accountable and the courts are no better.  We win a few small victories here and there, but we are not pushing them back.  They are not on the ropes.  They are well entrenched and it's time to stop thinking that this is just about not letting them take our country.  They've already taken it.  The question is can we still get it back?

In World War II The Axis powers were at their peak around August 1st, 1943.  It looked like there was little hope for the future.  If you watch the linked video from the beginning you see how the Axis powers moved and took over Europe.  But from August 1943 on the Allied powers start to take it back. This map shows how much of Europe they controlled:

That is what we face in America today.  The progressives are in control of much of our nation.  The question is whether we can turn that around as the Allies did in World War II.  If not, the progressives will win and they will control everything.  These midterm elections upcoming in November are our moment to seize control. If we miss the chance in the elections this fall to turn Congress back into the hands of the people and get rid of most of the old guard (in both parties) that are running things, then the inroads they've made will not only go unblocked, we will have paved the way for them to  continue their utter takeover of everything we hold dear in our country.

It's time to stand up America.  It's their ideology, not their incompetence that we're up against.
