“…I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve.… It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings.” - Patrick Henry, March 23, 1775

"The further a society drifts from truth the more it will hate those who speak it." - George Orwell

Families Can't Stop Government Approved Killing of Patients

(The Horse Sense Blog compares the nonsense in today's news with good ol' fashioned horse sense.)

Here's the Nonsense:  Europe's decisions to devalue and even take life aren't America's problem.  What they're doing will never happen here.

Here's the Horse Sense:  What starts in Europe not only heads for America, but it is pushed on us by our political elite ruling class.  We need to stop what they're doing now or we will be accountable for eternity.

Imagine government having the power to allow killing of patients and the victim's family has no say in it.  That's what's just happened in Europe.  And it's not just "something happening over there" but rather is a precursor to what is about to happen in America.  You better pay attention if you value your life and that of your loved ones.

It's all too common for Americans to think that things that happen elsewhere will never happen here.  But we've already seen too many instances where that's been proven wrong. Americans no longer have the rights we are supposed to have guaranteed to us by the Constitution.  Add to that the fact that the very politicians we elect to office don't represent the people, but rather do whatever they want while thumbing their noses at the very people who put them in office and for whom they work.  They see themselves as a political elite ruling class.  It's a recipe for disaster... a disaster we're already seeing come to fruition.

Every single American is in danger of having the government allow them to be murdered with no consequences to the offender if we allow what's just happened in Europe to come here.

WND is reporting that the European Court of Human Rights has just legalized the right of doctors to euthanize disabled people.  It's not just ironic that it's called the European Court of Human Rights, but scary to think that in 1950 this action was proclaimed wrong by the European Convention on Human Rights.  But now this policy has been approved and imposes euthanasia on patients who cannot agree or disagree and leaves their families with no power to intervene to save their loved one.

After the atrocities brought upon the world by Nazi Germany in World War II, western society held them accountable convicting them in the Nuremburg Trials for acts of unthinkable evil.  One of those evil acts was the use of euthanasia to eliminate those the government decided were unwanted, unneeded, and worthless.  Of course, the Nazis were the ones to determine the definition of unwanted, unneeded, and worthless because they saw themselves as the political elite ruling class who knew what was best for society.

The current court decision came about in the case of Vincent Lambert of France.  His family asked the court to protect him (he suffered head injuries in a 2008 traffic accident that left him in a quadriplegic state described as "minimally conscious plus."  He is not dead and can digest food.  The court ruled that a bureaucracy can decide on euthanasia and his family has no right to intervene.

Gregor Puppinck, who represented Lambert's right to life, said the court, "not only held that in Europe, we can legally induce the death of a disabled patient who did not ask to die, but in addition, it denies that patient the protection of the convention against mistreatment."

He went on to say:  "In 1946, during the Nuremberg trials, physicians who practiced euthanasia of disabled persons were convicted.  These convictions founded contemporary medical ethics.... This decision puts at risk the 'legal death' of tens of thousands of patients in Europe who are in the same situation as Vincent Lambert.  The respect for their right to life is no longer guaranteed by the European Court of Human Rights."

This is another step in the moral failure and abandonment of God that society is falling into.  And mark my words, our days are very short if we don't quickly wake up, abandon our folly and turn to God.

Don't think for a moment that just because it's in Europe it isn't important for America or won't happen here.  America often follows Europe. The leftist progressives want us to follow Europe on virtually everything.  They believe the failed socialism of Europe is a good model for America (it may have failed there, but they think they know better how to make it work than the Europeans do).  (In fact, a good example on a simple level is recently declared 2016 Democrat presidential candidate Lincoln Chafee who is being reported by CNN as pushing to change America to the metric system.  He believes that Europeans do things much better than Americans.)

Euthanasia is no small thing.  God values human life and those who do not will be accountable to Him.  You may not have noticed, but the political leadership in this country sees themselves as the political elite ruling class and rejected God and been pushing these ideas on us for some time.

In 2009 the left was trying to offset Sarah Palin's comments that Obamacare had death panels.  Of course as the truth about Obamacare came out after it was passed into law, she was proven right.  But in early defense of the law, Newsweek published an article about it in which the author, John Meachem, wrote, "the origins of what became the dreaded eath panels show the idea to be sensible and humane.  We have to think about death differently."

These are subtle things that the left carefully slips into society over time.  For example, they changed Germany and made it ripe for Hitler, but not overnight.  They changed the culture and attitude towards values starting about 80-100 years before Hitler took over.  They started working diligently on America around the time of Woodrow Wilson's presidency (1913 to 1921), which would put America right now at about the same place Germany was at when Hitler rose to power.

German professors Karl Binding and Dr. Alfred Hoche wrote in 1920, "The Permission To Destroy LIfe Unworthy Of Life."  They believed that taking the life of a patient was not against medical ethics for patients that were terminally ill, had brain damage, were mentally retarded, or had other mental health issues.  This kind of writing laid the groundwork for the Nazis who, two decades later, were killing people by the millions.  The Nazi doctors even justified the killing of the Jews and other socially "unacceptable" individuals comparing them to a diseased organ or gangrenous limb in the body that needed to be removed to save the patient.  To them, the Jews and socially unacceptable were a disease endangering the health of society and needed to be removed.

This mindset has been going through careful, planned introduction to American society for some time.

In 1922 Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, wrote "The Pivot of Civilization" in which she said, "There is but one practical and feasible program in handling the great problem of the feeble-minded.  That is, as the best authorities are agreed, to prevent the birth of those who would transmit imbecility to their descendants."

It's interesting to note that in a 2009 NY Times Magazine interview, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said, "Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don't want to have too many of."

Did you get that?  Ginsburg, a current Supreme Court Justice said there were "populations we don't want to have too many of."  You can't make a much more bigoted and closed-minded statement than that!

I have some questions for Justice Ginsburg:

  • Who decides which "populations" we don't want to have too many of?
  • Who decides who is unworthy to live?
  • What gives them the moral authority to make those decisions?
  • How would you feel if they decided you were one of those who should not live?

It's interesting to note that by 1969 views about the sanctity of life had dramatically changed in America.  The Christian Century published "The Soft Revolution Explored" by Sam Keen.  It said, "Western civilization has become disillusioned about its ancient romance with the religious and moral ideals of the Judeo-Christian tradition."  In 1995 Keen spoke at the State of the World Forum saying, "If we cut the world's population by 90%, there won't be enough people left to do ecological damage."  The response was thunderous applause.

The May 1973 issue of Prism from the American Medical Association included an article called, "Children from the Laboratory" by Dr. James Watson.  He wrote, "I think we must re-evaluate our basic assumptions about the meaning of life.  Perhaps no one should be thought of as alive until about 3 days after birth.  If a child were not declared alive until 3 days after birth, then the doctor could allow the child to die if the parents so chose."

The indoctrination of America to change our values continued in a 42 page report known as the Alethea Report that had a 10 year plan to achieve the goals of changing the values of self and the values of society, death and dying education, etc.

In 1980 Barbara Marx Hubbard (nominated at that year's Democratic Nat'l Convention to be VP candidate) wrote "The Revelation: Our Crisis Is A Birth (The Book of Co-Creation)" that said one-fourth of the world's population are "defective seeds" that "must be eliminated from the social body." She wrote that she and her compatriots (fellow citizens) "are in charge of God's selection process for planet Earth.  He selects, we destroy.  We are the riders of the pale horse, Death."

The point is that the traditional American view of the sanctity of life has not just changed, that change has been orchestrated by the political elite ruling class.  They not only want to control every decision during your life, they want to control decisions about whether you live or how long you live.  And their mindset is embraced fully by the mainstream media and Hollywood who promote it endlessly in their efforts to get Americans to accept this way of thinking.

They tell us, for example, that ending the life of the elderly is compassionate because it ends suffering.  They also try to sell us on the idea that it's environmentally and economically the best choice.  They do this because they believe the population must be reduced and this is one way to help attain those goals.

When human life has little value, it is easy to justify things that would have once been unthinkable.  Remember the story just a few years ago of the 3 year old girl who was denied a kidney transplant because she was mentally retarded?

Did you know that while you'll have to pay for life-saving drugs under Obamacare, life-ending drugs are free?  Click here for an article that will tell you about it.  They're encouraging death over life.

You or your loved ones could very easily be some of the people the political elite ruling class decide don't deserve to live.  That's something that virtually every American is going to have to face (except the political elite ruling class, who are immune from these decisions).

Their view of life is a sin against God and people who hold it will be held accountable by Him.  Don't ever forget that when we fail to take sin as seriously as God does, we're effectively saying His laws don't apply to us.  It's thumbing your nose at God.  Trust me, you won't win in that standoff.  You'll not only be held accountable for your actions, but also for your inaction.
