The Horse Sense Blog compares the nonsense in today's news with good ol' fashioned horse sense

“…I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve.… It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings.” - Patrick Henry, March 23, 1775

"The further a society drifts from truth the more it will hate those who speak it." - George Orwell

Dealing With Protesters: Comparing Reagan and Trump

Here's the Nonsense:  Trump is responsible for the violent protesters at his rallies.  Megyn Kelly on Fox News was right when she said Trump and his followers must give up some rights and be more politically correct to have a more civil society.

Here's the Horse Sense:  Trump and his supporters have as much right as any American to gather peacefully and talk about their views.  If we do not stand for every American's right to do that, whether we agree with them or not, then we have lost the First Amendment, which is the foundation stone of our free nation.

The left, the media (including many on Fox), and even the other GOP candidates are all blaming Trump for causing the violent protests at his campaign rallies.  It should be no surprise coming from the left and the media (I know, they're the same thing), but Republicans should be standing together against the violence and for the First Amendment rights of Trump and his supporters.  But they are showing their true colors by what they are doing and it is obvious that the GOP candidates just see this as an opportunity to try to damage Trump instead of an opportunity to stand for the freedom and rights of American citizens.

Steve Malzberg, on his show in NewsmaxTV, nailed it this week when he compared how Reagan dealt with protesters to Trump.  Watch below or click here to watch the 5 minute video.
